FEEDING INSTRUCTIONS FOR PRO PLAN TOY BREED FORMULA
Puppies start to nibble solid foods at three to four weeks of age. Keep moistened Pro Plan Toy Breed Formula available at all times. Allow your puppy to eat at will until fully weaned (six to eight weeks). After weaning, Pro Plan Toy Breed Formula can be fed moistened or dry. Continue to keep the bowl filled at all times or schedule feedings three times daily up to six months and twice daily from seven to twelve months (served the same time each day).
WHEN YOU BEGIN FEEDING PRO PLAN
When switching your dog to Pro Plan from another puppy food, please allow seven to ten days for the transition. Each day, feed more Pro Plan and less of the previous food, until you’re feeding Pro Plan exclusively. This gradual transition will help avoid dietary upsets.
Research at the Purina Technology Center indicates that avoiding overfeeding of puppies may help their development. The provided chart is only a guideline. If your puppy becomes overweight, a reduction of his daily food may be appropriate. You may wish to consult your veterinarian about a weight control program.
FEEDING FOR REPRODUCTION
Pro Plan Toy Breed Formula provides the extra nutrition needed by reproducing females in stages of gestation and lactation. Food consumption may vary during gestation, so feed the amount needed to maintain the pregnant female’s ideal body condition. Food intake may double or even quadruple during lactation.
